Our Deepest Fear . . .

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Positive Thinking and Visualization

The Law of Attraction is an extremely powerful tool that can be applied to coaching and playing basketball. It also can be applied to LIFE.

First of all, what is the Law of Attraction? To simplify it, it means you become what you think. You could also say you ATTRACT what you think about.

So if you think about bad things, you'll attract bad things. If you think about positive things and what you're going to do to attain them, positive results will most likely follow.

You could also relate the Law of Attraction to a magnet. Every thought, every emotion will come back to you.

So how can you make it work for you ? ? ?

You need to involve both halves of your brain. That means not only do you say something positive, but you have to see it happening (visualization) and feel it happening. The more emotion (feeling) is involved, the more likely you are to succeed at something.

Now, Lets apply this to Basketball .

Jimmy pulls up for a 15 foot jump shot and misses long. He thinks, "Gosh, Dang it!!. I suck. Why can't I ever make anything? I always screw everything up." If your thought process goes anything like this or if you have any negative thoughts after a play, STOP NOW!

If you think, "that was a terrible shot" or "you suck", what do you think you're going to attract? More bad plays and more bad shots. This will only hurt your game and cause you to continue to play below your capabilities.

It's very important to replace these negative thoughts with POSITIVE THOUGHTS.

Let's go back to the example before now. Jimmy pulls up for a 15 foot jump shot and misses long. Instead Jimmy thinks, "Okay, that was long. I need a little more arc and higher release point next time. They better not give me that shot again. Otherwise, I'm gonna nail it every time." Jimmy is also visualizing a beautiful shot as he does this.

If you apply the law of attraction to this way of thinking, Jimmy is going to hit more shots and probably hit the next open shot the defense gives him.

Learn from your mistake and apply positive thinking and visualization !

How to Instantly Improve Your Game

1) Develop you non-dominant foot

You already know that it is important to develop your non-dominant
hand, so you can dribble better with it. But, what most players
don't realize is that developing your non-dominant/week FOOT is
JUST as important as developing your weak hand...

Why? Simple, because if you don't develop your non-dominant foot
properly, you limit the number of angles and explosive moves you
can make.

A player that can plant both his right or left foot and explode is
MUCH more difficult to guard than a player who prefers one foot
over the other...

An easy way to develop your non-dominant foot is with
sprinting...do 1 sprint while planting & taking off with your right
foot, rest, and do another sprint while planting & taking off with
your left foot. Alternate your "take off" feet when doing sprints.

There are many more ways to develop your non-dominant foot, which
you'll learn about a little later.

2) Stay in "catch ready" position to shoot

When you're playing off the ball, its very important to stay in a
"catch ready" position so you can catch the ball and immediately
launch a good shot. If you're not in proper position and balance,
your shooting will be negatively affected.

The key here is to stay low, keep you hands up, and plant yourself
in a comfortable position from which you can shoot from.

This will instantly improve your shooting percentage.

3) Work on the "side-step" move

Many players have a tendency to commit charges, get their shot
blocked, or turn the ball over because they don't know how to deal
with a defender who steps in front of them when they are driving
strong...

Basically, if you're driving strong to the hoop, and a help
defender steps in front to cut off your drive, what do you do?

In this situation, it is very helpful to develop a Side-Step, where
you can suddenly step directly to your left or to your right as you
meet the defender, and then pull-up for a shot.

Many players are aware of the step-back move, but a very useful
move to use on a cut-off defender is to "side step" them and pull
up for a jumper...

Don't confuse this move with the Euro-Step, which is more of a
finishing move.

The Side-Step is more of a space creating move that is especially
useful for avoiding charges and creating enough space to get a shot
off.

So start to use those "Tricks" today and keep working HARD until you reach your GOALS!
I wish you the best of luck. . .

3 Basketball Scoring Secerts

Today I want to show you 3 of the most important tricks that al of the great scorer have in there arsenal . . .
Lets get started with the first TRICK.

TRICK #1: Score In Bunches.

Do wanna know why they call Kobe Bryant “The Black Mamba”?

It’s because he’s such a deadly scorer that he can pick and choose his spots, lying in wait for the perfect moment to strike.

One moment, he will be sitting back and distributing the ball, and then the next moment he will explode for 4 straight buckets.

This does a few critical things:

1.) It allows you to keep your teammates happy while you continue to put up massive numbers

2.) It allows you to utilize momentum and shift the flow of the game into your hands at any moment

3.) You become the “go to guy” on the court: whenever your team needs a few baskets, you’re the player they turn to

4.) It creates fear in the defense when they know that you can literally “go off” any time you want to

The best opportunities for scoring are almost always late in the first quarter, the start of the third quarter and late in the fourth quarter (when you’re playing a good team).

Also, good rule of thumb is to score within the flow of the offense (moving without the ball, hitting open jumpers and taking obvious opportunities) throughout the game, then pick two or three times to really explode and go off for a quick 6-10 points in a row.

TRICK #2: Get Into The Kill Zone

Most great defensive teams are always forcing offensive players to the corner, or the short corner.

There’s a reason for that: They don’t want you to get into the kill zone!

The kill zone is a square between 8 and 15 feet that stretches the width of the key: From this spot, you can create more scoring opportunities for your team than ANYWHERE else on the court.

So, as an offensive player, you need to be doing everything you can to get into this area and create for your team.

Always shift your defender to the outside and attack middle. From here, you can do a several things:

1.) Go all the way to the hoop and finish

2.) Pull up for a jumper or floater in the lane

3.) Draw the big man up and dump a pass down low to your big man for a finish

4.) Draw the defense in and skip a pass out to the wing or corner for a 3 (they do this incredibly well in the Euro leagues – coaches go crazy for this!)

Bottom line: Get into the Kill Zone and get to work!

TRICK #3: UtilizeThe Backside Slash

I always tell my players that if you can just master moving without the ball, you can EASILY score an extra basket per quarter (which comes to 8 extra points per game!)

The backside slash is one of the techniques we teach for moving without the ball (there are 3 other GREAT ones, but we can cover those later on).

Here’s the deal:

When you’re in the corner or on the low side of the wing, and your big man is positioned in above the block in the post with the ball, the backside of the baseline will usually be wide open (obviously don’t do this when your big man is making a move, wait for the right opportunity).

Step fake your man up towards the top of the key, then dart backdoor and call for a quick pass.

Bonus TRICK: Multi - Dimensional Scoring

The #1 reason talented players like yourself continue to be shut down on the offensive end is simply this:

You only know how to score ONE way!

If you can “only drive” or “only shoot,” or you only have one good go-to-move, you’re DONE. No coach or scout will give you a second look. In fact, most good defenders will straight-up laugh you off the court.

Listen, at the next level it’s flat-out EASY to shut down your one and only option.

So, to become a great scorer, you need to become a multi-dimensional scorer. In fact, to REALLY become unstoppable, there are FIVE critical skills you need to synergistically train in your game.

Truth is, there are VERY few defenders out there who can shut down all 5 methods of scoring, which means YOU will have the ability to score whenever you want to.

Click here to see the video that will teach you how to become a multi-dimensional scorer and change your game FOREVER . . .
